WHAT:We will be serving as "coaches" for mentally and physically disabled kids and young adults. We're really just playing with the kids and making sure they have a good time safely. You will go through an orientation but you won't be expected to do much more than playing with the kids. You won't need any experience or certification in dealing with developmentally disabled kids, just enthusiasm and a willingness to have a good time.
ABOUT: TKEEN stands for "Kids Enjoy Exercise Now". KEEN is a national, nonprofit volunteer-led organization that provides one-to-one recreational opportunities for children and young adults with mental and physical disabilities at no cost to their families and caregivers. KEEN's mission is to foster the self-esteem, confidence, skills and talents of its athletes through non-competitive activities, allowing young people facing even the most significant challenges to meet their individual goals. website: http://www.keenchicago.org
