WHAT: We at Urban Volunteers will be helping with the, preparation, set-up, serving of the meal, at the fellowship dinner for 300 low-income community residents of the Uptown neighborhood. Meet guests, pray with them, share testimonies, make friends, and enjoy fellowship.We will meet at the Uptown Baptist Church, enter at Wilson Street and ring the bell at the Glass Door. Meals will be served at 4pm, so we must be ready to help serve by this time. We will need at least 4-5 volunteers, so please sign up as soon as you can.

Wear comfortable, casual, festive clothing that you do not mind getting dirty and comfortable walking shoes. Uptown Baptist will provide aprons while cooking in the kitchen which is usually warm. Food will be provided.

Directions: I-90 east to Lawrence Ave. Lawrence left (east) to Sheridan Rd. Sheridan right (south) to Wilson Ave. Meters on street parking. Ring bell at glass doors on Wilson. The next best option is parking along N. Kenmore Avenue. Whether north or south of Wilson, there is usually ample and convenient parking available.

ABOUT: Extension Ministries directs the resources of Willow Creek Community Church into under-resourced communities by sending volunteer workers, providing forums for education, and offering spiritual and financial support to those in need. They partner with local churches and organizations to help create experiences that will transform how you see, engage, and respond to those who are suffering, poor, or oppressed. This year, Extension Ministries has joined with the Uptown Baptist Church to help celebrate the Holidays. On New Years Eve they will be having a Holiday Dinner at the Uptown Baptist Church for the low-Income residents in Uptown.
