WHAT: This project is perfect for those who enjoy working in the outdoors. We will be helping to clean up and landscape the Nature Museum's restored prairie for its Founder's Day Celebration the following Saturday November 10th.
We will be working outdoors with a horticulturalist. Please bring garden gloves to wear. Wear long pants and closed-toed shoes.
ABOUT: The Notebaert Nature Museum opened in 1999 and continues the mission of Chicago Academy of Sciences. The Nature Museum provides educational opportunities to visitors and houses a year-round butterfly haven. The building itself is very eco-friendly, boasting more than 17,000-square feet of rooftop gardens, extensive water conservation systems, solar rooftop panels, exhibits and amenities constructed of recycled and renewable materials. For more info about the museum, go to www.naturemuseum.org.
