WHEN: January 27, 2008, from 10:30 a.m. until 3:00 p.m. View Larger Map WHAT: Urban Volunteers will be helping out at the the Kohl’s Step-Up for Kids event by managing various tasks such as registration, gear check, water stations, floor cheerers, etc. Details on which tasks we will handle will be provided closer to date of the event. ABOUT: The Children's Memorial Hospital is Illinois' only children only hospital. It was founded in 1882 in an 8 bed cottage. They care for the area's most critically ill children. They focus on programs including prevention of violent and unintentional injuries, HIV/AIDS, chronic illnesses, parenting education, youth mentoring and access to care. They are guided by the belief that all children need to grow up in a protective and nurturing environment, where each child is given the opportunity to reach his or her potential.
